Hamilton's tenure as Governor of Tasmania was marked by significant achievements. He oversaw the completion of the Tasman Bridge, which connected Hobart and the eastern suburbs, and the establishment of the Royal Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery. Hamilton was also a strong advocate for the welfare of the indigenous population, working to improve their living conditions and promote their integration into Tasmanian society. Despite his progressive views, Hamilton faced challenges during his time in office. Sir Robert George Crookshank Hamilton retired from his position as Governor of Tasmania in 1895, leaving behind a legacy of progress and development.
