Tiger walking

Tiger walking. Tigers (Panthera tigris) are native to the forests of southern and eastern Asia. In common with most cats, they are generally solitary, although small groups of a male, female and cubs are known. Their territories may cover hundreds of square kilometres, and are marked with urine and scent. Only the males actively defend these areas, but other tigers simply passing through are disregarded. Tigers hunt large mammals such as deer, wild boar, antelope and buffalo. They are the largest of the cat family, reaching almost three metres in length

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the majestic beauty of a tiger walking through its natural habitat. The tiger, belonging to the Panthera tigris species, is native to the lush forests of southern and eastern Asia. Known for their solitary nature, tigers usually roam alone, although occasional sightings of a male, female, and their cubs have been reported. Covering vast territories that can span hundreds of square kilometers, these magnificent creatures mark their domains with urine and scent as a way to communicate with other tigers. While males actively defend their territories against intruders, passing tigers are generally ignored. Tigers are formidable hunters who prey on large mammals like deer, wild boar, antelope, and buffalo. As the largest members of the cat family, they can reach lengths close to three meters. Their striking appearance showcases strength and grace combined in one awe-inspiring creature. Sadly though, these incredible predators are endangered due to various factors such as habitat loss and poaching. This makes capturing moments like this even more precious as it reminds us of the urgent need for conservation efforts. Displayed by Science Photo Library without any commercial intent involved in this captioned image; it serves as a reminder of our responsibility towards protecting these rare animals' existence in our world's delicate ecosystem.
